I was born into construction and real estate—it's part of my family's DNA.

From an early age, I was surrounded by property development, renovations, and real estate projects spanning multiple generations of my family. That early exposure created a lifelong understanding of how buildings are constructed, maintained, and managed.

My experience extends well beyond inspections. I have worked in residential and commercial construction, owned a renovation and handyman business, managed and maintained rental properties, and spent nearly two decades evaluating property risk within the insurance industry. Each of those experiences provides a different perspective on a building—and together they allow me to evaluate properties with a broader understanding than inspection experience alone.

Construction & Building Experience

My professional background includes hands-on construction experience working for a family construction company on residential homes and commercial projects before owning my own renovation and handyman business. Performing repairs and renovations gave me firsthand knowledge of how buildings age, how systems fail, and how inspection findings translate into practical repairs. I am also a former Certified Lead Safe Renovator.

Property Ownership & Maintenance

My understanding of buildings also comes from years of maintaining and managing rental properties, ranging from single-family homes to multi-family apartment buildings, including a six-story, 52-unit property built in 1920. Working directly with deferred maintenance, capital improvements, tenant concerns, and long-term building upkeep provided valuable insight into the challenges property owners and managers face every day.

Commercial Insurance & Risk Analysis

In addition to construction and property management, I bring nearly twenty years of commercial insurance experience with a strong emphasis on property risk evaluation.

My career included more than five years as a commercial underwriter evaluating business property exposures, followed by nine years in commercial underwriting quality assurance and auditing. In that role, I reviewed complex commercial risks, developed underwriting guidance, evaluated construction methods and building systems, and helped establish quality standards for underwriting decisions. I also spent two years as an insurance agent, providing additional perspective on property protection, client service, and risk management.

Today, every inspection benefits from this combination of construction, property maintenance, commercial risk analysis, and inspection expertise.

Rather than simply identifying deficiencies, my goal is to help clients understand how a property's condition affects ownership, maintenance planning, future capital improvements, and overall risk. Whether you're purchasing a building, evaluating a triple net lease, managing an investment property, or planning long-term maintenance, my objective is to provide practical, objective information that supports confident decision-making.

Credentials

I am a proud member of InterNACHI and the Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA), holding both the Certified Professional Inspector (CPI®) and Certified Commercial Property Inspector (CCPI) designations.

Residential inspections are performed in accordance with the InterNACHI Standards of Practice. Commercial inspections are performed in accordance with the agreed-upon scope of work and guided by the CCPIA Standards of Practice when applicable.
