I was born into construction and real estate — it’s in my family’s DNA.

 

From my great-grandmother and grandmother to my parents, property development and real estate were part of daily life. Growing up around renovations and property flips gave me hands-on exposure to how buildings are built, maintained, and managed, providing a foundation for understanding both residential and commercial properties.

 

Construction and hands-on work have been a constant throughout my life. I worked in the family construction company, building residential homes and working on commercial projects. Later, I owned my own construction business specializing in home renovations and handyman services, frequently correcting issues identified in home inspections. I was also a certified Lead Safe Renovator. Additionally, I gained experience in commercial construction, including trim, framing, project estimating, and project management. I also performed maintenance, repairs, and management for commercial rental properties, ranging from single-family homes to multi-family buildings, including a six-story, 52-unit building built in 1920.

 

My professional experience spans nearly two decades in the insurance industry. I worked as a commercial underwriter for five and a half years, evaluating and reviewing risks. I then spent nine years in home office commercial underwriting, performing quality audits, researching complex risks, and helping establish practices, guides, and standards — such as evaluating properties with aluminum distribution wiring. I also served as an insurance agent for two years, gaining a holistic understanding of risk, property evaluation, and client service.

 

I am a proud member of InterNACHI and CCPIA, and I have earned both my Certified Commercial Property Inspector (CCPI) and Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) credentials.
